Privacy Policy

Hardwood Court IQ ("Hardwood Court IQ", "we", "us", or "our"), a service operated by KansTex, provides college basketball ratings, predictions, and analytics at hardwoodcourtiq.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it deliberately short because we collect deliberately little.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you create an account we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
• Subscription and billing information. Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Stripe handles your card details directly — we never see or store your full card number. We retain a Stripe customer identifier, your subscription status, and your plan renewal date so we can grant the access you paid for.
• Usage and preferences. We store a selected favorite team and any in-session "what-if" injury scenarios you create. Scenario data is kept in your browser session and is not tied to a shared profile.
• Technical information. For active sign-in sessions we record a session identifier along with the browser user-agent and IP address used to sign in, so you can review and revoke sessions and so we can detect abuse.

How we use your information

• To operate your account and provide the features and access level associated with your plan.
• To process subscriptions, renewals, and cancellations through Stripe.
• To send transactional email — account confirmations, billing receipts, payment-failure notices, and password resets. We do not send marketing email unless you opt in.
• To secure the service, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with the law.

Cookies

We use a single, signed, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and the site loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers we need to run Hardwood Court IQ — currently Stripe (payments), our email delivery provider (transactional email), and our hosting and encrypted-backup providers. Our sports data comes from collegebasketballdata.com and contains no information about you. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or ourselves.

Data retention and security

We keep account and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed to meet legal and accounting obligations. Traffic to the site is encrypted with TLS, passwords are hashed, and session cookies are marked secure and HTTP-only. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

Your choices and rights

• You can update your email or password, review active sessions, and cancel your subscription from your account settings at any time.
• You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA; we honor those rights.
• Deleting your account removes your personal profile; some records may be retained where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Children

Hardwood Court IQ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
